The Jail House

There are a variety of accommodations from which to choose—but the most popular are those that have been transformed from jail cell to cozy, well-appointed sleeping rooms. The thick walls are your first introduction to spending a night in the old jail, but, the crisp fresh linens, the comfortable beds, private baths, WIFI, satellite TV and the well-stocked Keurig suggest a more tranquil experience.

The Jail House consists of ten rooms, with six on the ground floor. Two are pet friendly. As a guest, you will want to sit out on the front porch with a good book, a glass of wine
and a long, lazy afternoon.

To complete the experience make sure you check out the two cell doors taken from the original jail.  They are display on the porch outside the “jail house” rooms.  Not only will you marvel at the size and heft of the cell doors you will appreciate the level of boredom and yearning for freedom that inspired the graffiti left by some long forgotten convict. Take a peak at some of our rooms below.

THE "PET FRIENDLY' GUEST HOUSE

Springnew

As you enter the property you will see a building to the left of the main house, this is known as the Spring House.  Years ago the building was used for cool storage of such products as dairy or meat since homes built during the mid-19th century relied on their spring houses to store perishables.  Today the Spring House features three lovely sleeping rooms, each facing west and overlooking the Jefferson Pools.

Round back of the main building and behind the Spring House are the Carriage House Rooms.  The Carriage House was as you might guess, the original “garage” first for carriages and then automobiles.  Now the space is used to house  four sleeping rooms.  These cozy rooms feature, private baths, fresh crisp linen, Wi-Fi, free satellite television, Keurig and the promise of a great nights sleep.
